Is a rhinoplasty,or "nose job", procedure right for you?

Is a rhinoplasty right for me?

Rhinoplasty, a medical term used to describe surgery on the nose. This procedure  is frequently done to correct traumatic or genetic deformities and to improve breathing through the nose. A rhinoplasty, also referred to as a "nose job", can remove a visible hump on the bridge of the nose, narrow the nose, reduce the size of the nasal tip, and make the nostrils smaller. Straightening out a crooked or "deviated" nasal septum is a common procedure performed to improve an obstructed airway. It is important to have a proper surgical assessment since many factors do play a role in the appearance and function of an individual’s nose. Genetics play a key role in the appearance of ones nose. Certain genetic affects, such as the thickness of the nasal skin, may be difficult, if not impossible, to correct. A good candidate should  be:
  • physically healthy
  • be old enough that their facial growth is complete
  • have realistic goals in mind for changes in your appearance
  • have a positive attitude
The rhinoplasty is done using oral sedation and local injection technique. This avoids the high costs and problems associated with general anesthesia. The procedure is done at our Timeless You center in our accredited operating rooms. What can you expect after your rhinoplasty procedure? Immediately following the rhinoplasty  procedure, a splint or nasal packing are usually placed inside the nose and a splint or taping placed on the outside of the nose. The packing is normally removed in 3 to 5 days, and the splint is removed in 7 to 10 days. The majority of swelling and bruising resolves within 7 to 14 days. Even though the majority of the rhinoplasty changes can be seen shortly after surgery, gradual changes continue to occur for many months. In some individuals, it may take up to a year to see the final result. The average cost  is between $4500 and $6500.
