"Swift Scan" Hand Laser Treatments
Do your hands make you look old? Do they have unsightly veins, sun damage, brown spots, or wrinkles that are hard to hide?
A hand rejuvenation treatment might be the answer to your problem.
Your hands are one of the first parts of the body to show signs of aging. Sunlight, the elements, and the natural aging process all contribute to the development of dark spots, unsightly veins, wrinkles, fine lines, and loss of thickness of the skin.
Dr. Marc Taylor performs a number of treatment options to help your hands look younger.
Swift Scan Laser Treatments
Dr. Taylor performs the new "Swift Scan” laser and treatment with his Phoenix CO2 laser from Rohrer. The Swift Scan provides a quick, easy, and effective laser treatment to eliminate or to reduce wrinkles, age spots, dark spots, and sun damage on the hands and forearms. All treatments are performed in his accredited operating rooms, using only a topical anesthetic or a local injection. There is usually minimal downtime and rapid healing. Of course, if there are significant pigment changes, sun damage, and/or wrinkles, several laser treatments may be required. Treatments can be performed every 2 to 8 weeks.
The Swift Scan laser treatments rejuvenate the skin by helping to smooth the wrinkles and to lighten or to eliminate the dark spots, giving the skin of the hands a fresh, younger look. The unique laser scanner divides the CO2 laser beam into tiny shafts of light, which decreases tissue damage and shortens the recovery time. The shafts of laser light clean off the damaged superficial skin, but they also penetrate through the outer layer of the skin and introduce heat into the deeper layers of the skin, thus stimulating collagen.
Other Hand Rejuvenation Treatments
Dr. Taylor also performs several other types of hand rejuvenation treatments.
Unsightly veins can be treated with a sclerotherapy technique. Similar to that used for spider veins of the legs, a special sclerosing medication is injected into the vessels using a tiny micro needle. There is minimal pain. The vessels are destroyed, and they gradually disappear over time.
For those individuals that have loss of volume with thin skin, injecting synthetic fillers or your own natural fat, which Dr. Taylor prefers, can make significant changes in the appearance of the hands.
